Working principle of a bcMeter.png

How does the bcMeter work?

  1. Polluted air passing through filter paper
  2. Filter paper absorbs black carbon (BC)
  3. Sensor measures attenuation of LED shining at 880nm through filter paper (and bias of environmental light changes)
  4. Data is evaluated and saved as .csv
  5. Data is displayed in web browser

For comprehensive documentation of the measurement principle, sensors, and capabilities, see Introduction.
