Overview of parts and approx. costs
Membrane pump (~$160) - (TBD – cheaper solution will be available soon)
3D Printed Parts
A: Upper Case (3D Printed)
B: Lower Case(3D Printed)
C: Intake manifold(3D Printed)
D: LED/Sensor holder(3D Printed)
E: LED/Sensor holder(3D Printed)
Print on any 3d printer or send to any service provider. Use black filament / resin. If possible, use flex filament or mix resin with flex resin. 200g Resin / FDM ~ $5-$10
- 3D printing service is more expansive (~$100)
STL for 3D Printing (SLA or FDM) github repository or bcmeter.org)
PCB of bcMeter (Raspberry Pi Hat)
F: We recommend the 5V PCB. Find gerber files for PCB fabrication on github) ~$25
bcMeter SMD PCB for 5V and smaller pumps
bcMeter general purpose PCB for 12V, less accurate but more easy to assemble (THT)
Components to be soldered on the PCB
G: Components from mouser.com or anywhere else (~60) – bill of material
Filter paper =
H: Filter papers – Type TBD, tested with Pall T60A20 – ask local labs for availability
This is crucial, tell us what type you use, send us a sample and we find the correction factor to use. Refer to Correction factors for different filter papers
Basically any filter works, the device just has to be calibrated against it.
Additional material / Tools
I: Additional material:
- 22-30 AWG Wire to connect the sensor and LED to PCB
- Hot Glue - use to seal air leaks around sensor brackets ~$7
- Rubber band (SHORE A) for sealing intake ~$11
- Silicone hose 5mm inner diameter ~$5
- M3 Screws ~$3
- M3 threads ~$7
(Screws and threads not required for basic operation)
- microSD Card (4gb+)~$8
- 40 Pin Header (optional for plug the Hat)
